Rancho Emergency Preparedness Bulletin 2007/2008

In compliance with NUSD emergency preparedness requirements, Rancho Elementary has established the following guidelines to help facilitate a safe environment for all children and staff. The guidelines for student pick up will be strictly adhered to in the event of an emergency. Please review the following with your child/children and all of the adults who are listed on you child’s emergency release card.

Emergency Pick-Up Procedures : According to the Rancho Emergency Preparedness Plan (and in compliance with NUSD), in the event of an emergency, parents are to report to the Student Release area in the Kindergarten Play Yard. You must fill out a form with the Rancho attendance staff before your child / children will be released. The students will be gathered on the Babe Silva Little League playing field. These procedures are in place to ensure the safety and organized evacuation of the students.

Vehicles : In an emergency, do not enter Johnson Street with your vehicles. Johnson Street must be open and accessible to emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire engines. Please park your vehicle in the Pini Hardware / Novato Post Office parking lot at the Nave Shopping Center. You can then enter Rancho through the back gate or the footpath from South Novato Blvd. Alternate parking areas would be the church parking lots near the intersection of South Novato Blvd. and Arthur Street. The locations are Quest Church at 1461 South Novato Blvd and Novato United Methodist at 1473 South Novato Blvd. There might be additional traffic on Arthur Street due to Novato High. Be sure to share these important procedures with the relatives, friends and carpool parents who have been listed on your child’s emergency card.
